Compost covering

Compost, also known as humus or composted material, is the result of a process involving the bio-oxidation and humification of various organic materials, including pruning residues, kitchen scraps, and manure. This process involves macro and microorganisms under optimal oxygen and chemical balance conditions.

Compost is used as a soil amendment to improve soil structure and the availability of essential nutrients such as phosphorus, potassium, and nitrogen. As a biological activator, it enhances the microbial biodiversity of the soil and promotes plant growth.

To ensure optimal maturity, it is essential to protect the compost heap from weather conditions. The breathable FLORTEX® 55/300 cover, made from UV-resistant polypropylene, allows water vapour to escape, prevents condensation and keeps the compost dry during fermentation.
