Asphalt reinforcement geosynthetics

Geogrids have open meshes, obtained through weaving processes of continuous polyester or glass fiber filaments and usually coated with bitume. Main functions that can be performed are: reinforcement, "stress relief", anti-cracking of the asphalt pavement. Geogrids are available in two versions, both for road asphalt reinforcement. The first one is a self-adhesive fiberglass for an easy installation and the second one is a geo-composite made by a geogrid of polyester combined with a non-woven geotextile in polypropylene which increases the contact surface on original layer. In addition to the normal functions, the geocomposites can play as barrier.
