Geomats and biomats
Erosion control mats and biomats are synthetic or natural materials designed to control surface soil erosion caused by atmospheric agents such as rainfall, runoff and wind. They are used on slopes, embankments, riverbanks and areas subject to surface instability, with the aim of stabilising the soil and promoting vegetation establishment.
Edilfloor offers four references: SintexMat® and NewMat®, synthetic three-dimensional erosion control mats; JuteNet®, a mat in jute fibres; StrawMat®, a mat in straw fibres. The different references cover a wide range of requirements in terms of mechanical resistance, permeability and durability depending on installation conditions.
The environmental performance of NewMat® is documented in the Environmental Product Declaration EPD, verified by an independent third-party body.
